Metal Suspension System for Concealed Ceiling Installation
A Metal Suspension System provides a structured galvanised metal framework for supporting plasterboard in concealed ceiling applications.
The Metal Suspension System is designed for concealed ceiling construction using galvanised metal ceiling battens, vertical suspension members and plasterboard panels. Based on the illustrated configuration, the suspension points may be fixed to the soffit of a slab with wall plugs or secured to a steel truss with screws. The metal framework is assembled with galvanised screws to form an organised support grid for the ceiling board.
System Components and Application
The diagram shows ceiling battens arranged at approximately 900 mm in one direction, with supporting members positioned at approximately 450 mm intervals. This configuration provides a practical framework for installing plasterboard ceilings across residential, commercial, institutional and renovation projects. Final suspension spacing, fixing methods and ceiling layout should be determined according to the relevant project design and site requirements.
